Why both, why now

Drawing and
animation are
one skill.

If you only draw, your characters stay in a single pose. If you only animate, the drawing falls apart the moment a character turns her head.

Most people stop somewhere between those two problems. Learning both is what fixes them. You build a character who holds together from every angle, then you learn what happens to that character across twelve frames, and the two halves finally meet.

That is why the courses exist in this order, and why I am releasing them together instead of asking you to guess which one to start with.

Course 01 · The line

Drawing Basics:
Female Characters

Faces first: contours, eyes, lips, nose, ears. Then the body: torso, hands, hips, legs, feet. Hair that holds a shape instead of reading as a scribble, clothing with real fabric weight, colour and light direction, and a closing module on expression so your characters can act.

Course 02 · The movement

2D Animation
Basics

Pose to pose, keyframes, inbetweens, easing, arcs, delay and anticipation. Pendulums and bouncing balls come first, because they teach your hand what timing feels like. After that, walk cycles, run cycles, and lip sync, built on the same process I use in my own work.

Hi, I'm Sykosan.

I have worked as a 2D animator since 2004, across advertising, feature films, video games, and music videos, and I mentor at CG Spectrum. My style blends Western and Japanese influences, Ghost in the Shell, Ghibli, Street Fighter, everything that made me fall for animation in the first place.

For the past four years I have taught a community of 250,000 artists, so I know precisely what it feels like to stare at an empty canvas with no idea where to begin. I built the courses I wanted when I started, and the bundle is the version I would hand my younger self.
